Kenyan Arabica Coffee
AA
Rich body with vibrant acidity, a fresh aroma with overtones of berries and citrus, chocolatey, earthy and a wine-like finish.
AA is a coffee grading term that refers to the bean size. AA coffee beans pass through a 18/64" diameter sieve and are therefore assigned the grade AA, generally the largest bean.
PEABERRY
Full-bodied, sharp acidity with a winy flavor of black currants and interesting fruit (berry & citrus) flavors.
Peaberry is a type of coffee bean that is oval or pea-shaped due to a small mutation;
Normally the fruit ("cherry") of the coffee plant contains two seeds ("beans") that develop with flattened facing sides, but sometimes only one of the two seeds is fertilized, and the single seed develops with nothing to flatten it. Only 5 percent of the coffee bean crop are Peaberry coffee beans.
CHUNGU
Bitter, stout and exciting spicy flavors (cinnamon & nutmeg).
At the coast of Kenya (Mombasa, Malindi and Lamu), drinking kahawa chungu is an old tradition. Usually brewed over a charcoal stove in tall kettles, it is served with dates or ground nuts which helps balance off the taste.
This authentic Kenyan bitter coffee is said to be an aphrodisiac because it increases and stimulates the flow of blood and makes a person stay awake for a longer period of time.
GREEN
